It is committed to a person-centred approach to the work, both in teaching and working with members of the public. SCMT offers workshops, short courses and professional training in therapeutic massage. It has developed a bespoke professional training for Muslim women The professional training uses The Massage Training Institute examining body. The SCMT is a member of the General Council for Massage Therapy (GCMT), the national lead body governing the profession.
